Tucson IDA Welcomes Tim Kinney to Board of Directors

We are thrilled to announce that Tim Kinney, a distinguished attorney and dedicated community advocate, has joined the Tucson Industrial Development Authority (IDA) Board of Directors.


Based in Tucson and serving clients throughout Arizona, Tim Kinney specializes in compliance with local and state land use regulations and has significant experience with complicated entitlement issues, real estate transactions, and negotiating public/private partnership agreements. He has represented many clients on land use, zoning, real estate, and administrative law matters throughout Arizona.

Tim stays involved in the local community, including serving as a Commissioner on the City of Tucson's Planning Commission and volunteering on the Tucson Industrial Development Authority's Property Development Committee. He previously served as chair of the board of local Tucson nonprofit Literacy Connects, chair of the Urban Land Institute’s Southern Arizona Committee, and volunteered with Lawyers for Literacy.

Along with his experience in various complex legal issues, Tim received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Arizona and is admitted to practice in Arizona and the District of Arizona.


The Tucson IDA Board of Directors plays a crucial role in guiding our organization's mission to foster economic growth and improve the quality of life in our community. Our board comprises dedicated professionals from diverse backgrounds, each bringing unique skills and insights to our initiatives. Tim joins a cohort of esteemed individuals, including Judy Clinco, Meredith Aronson, Moniqua Lane, Mimi Noshay-Petro, and Patricia Schwabe, who are all committed to making a positive impact in Tucson.

Board members of the Tucson IDA typically serve a term of six years. During their term, they are involved in strategic planning, financial oversight, and the approval of various projects that align with our mission. Board members meet regularly to discuss ongoing projects, review proposals, and ensure that our activities align with our goals.

Tim was nominated by the Mayor and Council to join the Tucson IDA board. Candidates are nominated based on their expertise, commitment to community service, and ability to contribute to our mission.
